Vanderpump Rules Couple Set to Sell Shared Home

Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval’s relationship has always been in the public eye, considering the couple appeared together on the TV show Vanderpump Rules, where their relationship began. While the couple shared many happy years together, they never married, despite owning a home and adopting several dogs.

As their relationship deteriorated, questions arose about how the couple would handle their jointly owned home.

After a two-year legal battle, both parties have reached a settlement, contingent on the “completion of specified terms.” If these terms are not met by the time the ex-couple is set to reappear in court on February 5th, then the case will go to trial. That trial date is set for February 17th.

According to the lawsuit, the couple purchased the home together in 2019 after being in a romantic relationship for over six years. In 2021, PEOPLE magazine published a story about the couple’s five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom house. Unfortunately, the couple broke up on March 1, 2023, after allegations surfaced about Sandoval cheating on Madix with one of their co-stars, Rachel “Raquel” Leviss.

Despite the split, both parties continued to live in the home. In January of 2024, Madix filed a lawsuit seeking a partition by sale judgment so the couple could move forward and split their assets once and for all. Madix requested an equitable allocation of the proceeds of the sale, including payment of the debt secured by the sale and the costs of the partition action. Sandoval contested the idea and claimed that Madix had failed to state sufficient facts to state a cause of action against him.

Now, two years later, it’s possible that the situation will finally be resolved.

Getting Help With Partition Actions

Partition actions are becoming increasingly popular for dividing home ownership when two co-owners are no longer able to cooperate or agree on how the property should be handled. Partition actions are a great resolution strategy for non-married couples who split up, heirs who jointly inherit a property, co-owners who can’t agree on what to do with the property, and partners who are equally financially responsible for the costs and ownership of the home.

If you’re currently considering seeking out a partition action to force the sale of your co-owned property, then it’s a good idea to consult with an attorney about your situation.
